On September 19th, we traveled in search of animated gold.
Unfortunately, the project took a trip for the worse -- we ended up losing some footage --
but it was a fun time and we will be doing it again. :)

The journey took place at the Independents' Day Festival in Downtown Columbus...
Independents' Day 2009 Public Pirate Animation from Jennifer Deafenbaugh on Vimeo.
The setup:
We had an animation table with 3 levels that you could work with,
lots of objects that were piratey were available to animate,
a display was set up so you could see the images you're capturing,
and an "ANIMATE" button was set up so that you could press it to capture an image or two.
What was supposed to happen:
Festival Attendees were invited to create one or multiple frames of animation.
My laptop was set up to collect those frames, saving them in the order they were created.
At the end of the day a short video was to be made and posted online of whatever footage we ended up capturing.
What did happen:
Somehow, all the frames didn't get captured. :( (My apologies to everyone who worked on this...)
What happens now?:
We try again! :)
The next festival, the setup will be more solid -- we'll have everything tested and ready to go -- and maybe we'll be able to show the created footage back to you in real-time.
We will FOR SURE be setting this up at the Fuse Factory's annual Ignition Show in the spring of 2010.

When we figure out where else to go next, we'll post it on the site -- so check back often!
